radiesse_wrinkleRadiesse is a wrinkle filler that is long-lasting and effective for treating a variety of age-related imperfections. This popular filler is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) – tiny calcium spheres suspended in gel. When injected, Radiesse acts like a scaffolding for your skin, restoring lost volume and correcting wrinkles or folds.

Is Radiesse right for you?

Radiesse is FDA approved for treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, typically the nasolabial folds. Plastic surgeons have used Radiesse in off label applications such as treatment of sunken cheeks, marionette lines or depressed scars.

The Procedure

Before your treatment, Dr. Peterson evaluates the areas that need to be corrected. The skin is cleansed and a topical anesthetic or ice pack is applied to make the injection comfortable. Radiesse is then injected with a fine needle into a specific depth of the skin. You will see an immediate correction that lasts an average of 10-14 months.

Side Effects

Radiesse is a popular filler because of its durability, ease of use and low incidence of side effects. Possible adverse reactions include mild irritation, edema, swelling, itching, discoloration or tenderness. Ask the doctor for more information if you are concerned about side effects.
